[RSM Weekly Update#4 for Schools]: why learner data is important

Last week we looked at how Schools can significantly improve rapport with parents by creating Channels, posting in News & Resources regularly on the pertinent topics that will resonate with parents, especially now during the #lockdown. If you've missed a Weekly Update #3, just scroll down and you will find it below this email.

Since last week some Schools have been quite active with training on:

1. How to import Learner Data into RSM. The Bursar has imported all the data for 931 learners into RSM. This is great.
2. How to allocate fundraising expenses in Rise School Management.
3. How to transfer funds from one bank account into another one in RSM.
4. How to capture receipts for uniforms, funwalk & other activities.
5. How to map School's accounts to 043-Form report in RSM

One of the Schools started posting homework in the Communicator for various classes, using Channels.

For Schools, Learner Data is an important part of RSM. Schools have between 400 and 1000 learners, and some of you have over 1000 learners. Accessing learners' and guardians' details quickly is crucial for schools. Learner Data is linked to Accounting & other parts of RSM.

That is why 3 years ago our Team created a CEMIS import tool to enable Schools to import all their Learner Data in one go and, more importantly, access this info in one place at a click.

Here is some feedback from Ms Debbie Timm, Finance Officer from South Peninsula HS:

Rise SA: How has your experience been with RSM and our team?

Debbie: "From the moment I heard about the Rise School Management system and the benefits that a school can derive from the use of it, I was hooked. Being a wee bit "techno challenged", I did not even feel overwhelmed with my first online training session, as Anna and Natassja were superb in guiding me through. My weekly training sessions have been quite informative as well. The fact that your 043-Form and Budget report are automatically populated is a huge bonus in itself."

Rise SA: How did you find the learner Data module?

Debbie: "I found the Learner Data module comprehensive with lots of relevant info that can be inputted, which makes for good record keeping."

Rise SA: How has the training been in terms of the system & your accounting questions?

Debbie: "The training is fairly easy to follow and the presentation by Anna and Natassja is very informative and accommodating, with accounting questions being addressed. I've been learning some things by navigating around the accounting package and feel inspired as to the benefits that the Rise School accounting package offers."
